Fifty percent of persons with gonorrhea may show no symptoms.
Men are more likely than women to show signs of infection.
When present, the early symptoms of gonorrhea are often mild. Symptoms usually appear within 2 to 10 days after sexual contact with an infected partner.
Because symptoms are not always present, you may be infected with gonorrhea and not know it.
Despite the lack of symptoms, the infection can still be transmitted.
