Unfortunately, it will be many years of research before an effective and safe vaccination against HIV is available. This is in part due to the virus’ ability to mutate and adapt. Despite this news, the enormous progress that has been realized over the past years with regards to the successful treatment of HIV portends a great deal of optimism.
