Certain preventive measures have had varying degrees of success. These include adapting your clothing (wear only white cotton underwear containing no synthetic fibres, avoid tight clothing), modifying your diet (follow a Lactobacillus treatment), and altering your environment (change your soap, shampoo, bubble bath, etc.). Trichomonas is a sexually transmitted infection, therefore measures to protect against it are the same as for other STIs.
The condom remains the best way to prevent this infection and other STIs. Remember to use the condom correctly and at all times whenever you have sexual relations outside a monogamous relationship with one non-infected partner.
